I'm a 22yr veteran of the Army and Navy. I was a mechanic in both services, with 2yrs combat mechanics in Iraq as well as a Federal Technician while in reserves. I'm also a Coast Guard certified Engineer. I've worked on everything at one time or another. Also I have been living and working on sail and power boats with diesel, gas and outboards for 22 yrs. Not much I haven't seen or worked on. I am too disabled to do my own work now so I give them the work. I didn't let them know my Qualifications at first as I wanted to test their honesty and competency and they exceeded expectations. However that said they do tend to error on the side of safety and a 100% fix of everything and that can sometimes create estimates that seem high and scary. However their estimates are ALWAYS in line with ASE work and standards. So do your homework and decide what you want and they will decide what risk they are willing to take by not doing all "recommended" work. Its their business/reputation/license on the line and quite frankly their over abundance of caution and detail is reassuring for those of you not mechanically inclined. Yes I trust them.
