It should go without saying your vehicle's brakes are very important. If you can't stop or slow down as well as you should, it is obviously very dangerous. Brakes become even more vital as we enter the fall season and approach winter here in Northern Delaware. The weather starts getting more unpredictable, road conditions get more challenging and other drivers on the roads could be careless. You need your brakes to be working well.
That's why Fox Run Auto is offering a number of special seasonal service specials (for a limited time only), including a FREE brake inspection! Come on into our shop in Bear and our expert auto repair technicians will inspect your brakes to make sure they are ready for the seasons ahead.
Here are some of the components we will look at:
Brake Pads
We'll measure the brake pads and confirm that they are in good shape. If they are worn, we will let you know exactly how much life they have left. If they are between 1/8" and 3/16" then they should be replaced as soon as possible.
Brake Rotors
The brake rotors must also be inspected for wear. All brake rotors have different specs, but each will have a "Worn Rotor Minimum Thickness" limit noted directly on the rotor itself. Fox Run Auto will measure the rotor thickness and determine if/when they need to be replaced or repaired.
Brake Fluid
Without proper brake fluid providing hydraulic power to the brakes, they won't perform properly. It is a good idea to inspect the brake fluid levels and quality periodically. Fox Run Auto can refill or replace it if needed.
Other Brake Components
Fox Run Auto technicians will perform an external inspection other key components of your vehicle's brake system, including the master assembly, wheel bearings and calipers. If a more in-depth internal inspection is required, one of our Service Advisors will walk you through that process and any additional costs.
