Long before the doors open at Fox Run Auto every morning, you can usually expect to find our General Manager, Mike Accursi, already at work. He’s putting on the coffee (with at least one cup set aside for himself). He’s gathering the keys from the drop box and trying to decipher the scribbled handwriting on those overnight service requests from panicked car owners.
Leading by Example
That’s just what happens before the day officially starts for Mike. Once the doors open, he’s busy setting the daily schedules, matching each automotive repair job with the right technician(s) and he’s reviewing the work done from the day before. Then, he’s up front at the service counter, consulting with customers and helping them make the best repair decisions.
Mike is basically the engine that makes our Fox Run Auto car drive down the road every day. He makes sure our customers are taken care of and the guys in our shop know exactly what they need to be working on. He’s ordering parts and dealing with vendors, so that all the pieces of the puzzle fit together. In short, Fox Run Auto just wouldn’t be what it is today without Mike’s dedication and automotive expertise.
Mike has been a part of the Fox Run Auto family for 12 years. “Twelve amazing years!” he says proudly. He is one of the three Mikes who are vital to the shop’s success.
Proven Automotive Expertise
With over 20 years of experience in the automotive repair industry, Mike’s knowledge is such a benefit to our technicians and our customers. He holds his associate’s degree in Automotive from Mount Hood Community College in Oregon. Mike is an ASE Certified Master Technician and a Delaware Certified Emission Repair Technician. He also holds ASE L1 Advanced Engine Performance certification. His expertise when it comes to car repair is truly something to behold.
What Mike loves most about his career with Fox Run Auto is sharing his knowledge with people. Whether he’s in the shop chatting up the technicians or out front taking to our customers, he is happiest when he is talking cars and automotive repairs. “I have worked on cars as long as I can remember,” Mike says. “My grandfather was an airplane mechanic. He worked on P-49s and P-51s, and he had an MGA set up on jack stands in his garage. I spent a lot of time in there with him. Plus, my father was an amateur mechanic and I was always eager to help him work on the family vehicles. This job is the perfect fit for me!”
More About Mike
Though he was born in California and spent about 10 years living in Portland, Oregon, Mike has lived in Delaware most of his life. When he’s not working hard at Fox Run Auto, he loves riding his motorcycle. He is also the bass player in a local band, which is just one reason we consider him the Paul McCartney of our little group. Mike also has four children and he enjoys spending as much quality time with them as possible.
At Fox Run Auto, we’re so happy that we have someone like Mike Accursi running the show as General Manager. Be sure and say hi to him next time you visit the shop and we dare you to try and stump him with questions about automotive repair. In fact, we double-dog dare you!
