Tomorrow, most of us will be gathered around the dinner table with family and friends, enjoying a delicious turkey dinner (or whatever traditional holiday food your family prepares). The point is that Thanksgiving is a holiday that allows us to spend quality time with our loved ones. It's also a time to give thanks for everything you are grateful for. At Fox Run Auto, we are grateful for a lot. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped make our little local auto shop a success over the past 25 years. The Fox Run Auto Team It starts with our staff. When Mike DeFino opened Fox Run Auto back in 2004, he knew that he needed to surround himself with automotive technicians and customer service advisors who were knowledgeable, hardworking and friendly. "I wanted our customers to know they could always count on our team to get the job done right and treat them properly,&q ... read more

Umer needed automotive repairs, some of which were still covered under an extended warranty program. He took his car to Fox Run Auto in Bear, DE and worked closely with our lead Automotive Service Advisor, Rob Hurt, during the inspection and repair processes. "Everyone here is friendly and patient," says Umer in his recent Google review. "They care to explain the problem rather than simply listing them out. Robert is professional, adds a personal touch to his work and believes in long-term association." The first step in the Fox Run Auto process is to thoroughly inspect the vehicle and identify any potential problems or damaged parts. Our knowledgeable automotive technicians will get to the specific source of any issue. Then, we can produce a detailed inspection report that outl ... read more

Power steering systems play a very important part in modern car designs. Power steering has been around for decades and the technology continues to evolve. Many of today's vehicles use a very advanced electronic power steering system as opposed to the traditional hydraulic mechanics that use power steering fluid to create pressure and provide lubrication. Electronic power steering systems don't really require much in terms of maintenance. However, as newer technology with more complex components, they can be prone to problems that will require repairs. Meanwhile, traditional power steering systems do require maintenance and care, primarily when it comes to changing out the power steering fluid when it becomes old, dirty or corroded. Without fresh fluid, the system won't operate efficiently and mechanical problems can develop. It's good to know what to look for in case you do have a power steering issue ... read more

When talking about the systems that power your vehicle, you’ll hear a lot about the engine and the transmission, as well. Your car won’t run if neither of those are working. However, the drive system that is often the least understood—yet is equally important—is the driveline. It is what transfers the power (torque) from the engine and transmission to the drive wheels that ultimately move the vehicle. First, it helps to understand the differences in the terms powertrain, drivetrain and driveline. The three are often used interchangeably, though they are not actually the same. Here is a quick breakdown to define these terms: Powertrain — Everything that powers the vehicle, including the engine, transmission and driveline components (differentials, axle shafts and joints that we’ll explai ... read more

To say Anthony has a strong connection with his 2013 Jeep Wrangler might be an understatement. In the years he's had this vehicle, he has put more than 270,000 miles on it! When you drive that much, you are likely to encounter some automotive problems eventually—even if you are really great about your regular maintenance routine. That's exactly what happened to Anthony when his engine died at the 272,828-mile mark. It was definitely a bit heartbreaking, but not completely surprising. He knew the rest of the Jeep still had plenty of life in it, so he reached out to Fox Run Auto to replace the engine. "Mike and the crew at Fox Run towed to the vehicle to their shop, procured a new engine and installed it, along with a few other items," Anthony says. "They had it back to me within a week. You just can't get a ... read more
