We are more than just an auto repair shop at Fox Run Auto. We also offer towing and roadside assistance services to drivers in the Northern Delaware area. Whether you need a tow or are just dealing with a bad situation, we're here to help. We are an AAA-approved roadside assistance provider, as well, though you should call them first if you find yourself in trouble and want to make sure the services are covered under your plan.
Towing and roadside assistance calls tend to pick up over the winter months with cold weather and more challenging road conditions. Here are the 5 most common reasons why people call our towing service:
1. Vehicle Unable to Drive
Obviously, if your car won't start or the transmission won't shift into gear, you are stuck where you are. You may be at the home, somewhere else, or stranded along the roadside in need of help. This is when you should call for roadside assistance. You may need our help to jump-start a dead battery or tow your vehicle to a repair shop to diagnose the problem. Just because we offer towing services does not mean you are required to bring your car to Fox Run Auto. We can tow it anywhere you want, but of course we'd be happy to provide our repair expertise if you prefer.
2. Vehicle Unsafe to Drive
There are some situations where your car may be driveable. However, it might not be a good idea. It may be unsafe to drive for any number of reasons. Examples include bald or flat tires, major fluid leaks, flashing/red check engine light, slipping transmission, bad brakes, accident damage, and other issues that would make it wiser to have it towed somewhere safely for repairs. Don't put your life at risk (or the lives of others) by driving a car that is unfit to drive.
3. Flat Tire
This may be the most common reason people call for roadside assistance. It's always nice to know how to change your own flat tire, but sometimes it can be difficult to do on your own. Lug nuts can get stuck or the tire/wheel damage can be too severe. Many new vehicles don't even come with spare tires and the fix-a-flat goo rarely works for very long—in fact, it may make a flat impossible to repair later. You don't want to be stuck on the side of the road for too long and you may not have what you need to change the tire and get back safely on the road. Calling for roadside assistance can get you out of a frustrating flat tire situation.
4. Out of Gas
Another very common scenario is when someone runs out of gas. We've all done it at some point in life, so don't feel bad. It happens. If you run out of gas, pull over to a safe spot and call for help. We'll get to you as soon as possible with enough fuel to get to the next filling station, or we can tow you where you need to go.
5. Locked Out
People lose their keys or accidentally leave them in the vehicle. Key fob batteries can die without warning. There are various ways you can find yourself locked out of your vehicle. Call for expert roadside assistance and we can help get you back in your vehicle without a problem.
