What Does the ABS Warning Light Mean? ABS stands for the anti-lock braking system. The system is put in place to keep the driver safe by preventing wheel lockup when you apply brakes. It prevents the car from skidding and gives you more control over its steering. A warning light is placed on the dashboard and it illuminates when there is an issue in the anti-lock braking system that requires your attention. What Reasons Cause ABS Light to Come On?
